Hey, everyone! I’m back with another book review, and this time it’s a poetry book that blew my mind. It’s called Rehab: A Love Story In Poems, by Ana Luna Simic. And guess what? I found out about this book in the most amazing way: the author herself liked one of my blog posts! I was intrigued by her name, Luna, which means Moon in my language, so I crawled through her website and found this amazing book. #ad How cool is that?
I decided to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did. It’s one of the best poetry books I’ve read this year, or maybe ever.
The book is a collection of poems that tell the story of a woman who falls in love like an addict and goes through all the stages of addiction, recovery, relapse, and letting go. The poems are raw, honest, and powerful. They don’t have titles, just chapters that mark the different phases of the relationship. The author uses beautiful language and imagery to convey the emotions and experiences of loving someone who is struggling with addiction.
I was deeply moved by this book because it made me feel everything the author felt. I could relate to her pain, her hope, her frustration, and her acceptance, and I felt that I was sometimes the victim and the villain in my life. She writes with such sincerity and courage that I admire her for sharing her story with the world. She shows us that love is the most addictive drug of all and that we can learn a lot from our failures. She also shows us that true love never turns into hate, but rather into kindness, regret, understanding, and pain.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves poetry, or who has ever loved someone who made them go through all this experience. It’s a beautiful and inspiring work of art. Luna Simic deserves to be famous and sell like crazy. She is a talented and brave poet who touched my heart with words. I can’t refrain from not comparing this great poetry with that famous for no reason Rupi Kaur, that I can’t read without hearing the sound of a toilet flushing.
Thank you for reading my review, and please let me know what you think of this book if you decide to read it. And thank you, Luna Simic, for introducing me to your amazing poetry. I’m not sure I should say keep more coming, guessing from where this one comes. 🙂 But anyway, you understand.
If you enjoy my work, you can support me by buying me a coffee or one of my books. ☕📚
