Ink And Reason

The dawn of the new year
I feel so sleepy and sore,
We celebrated the night before
With laughter, music and more.

The morning sun
Shines through the window pane,
Our kid is up and ready to play.
He fills the house with joy and games.

I made some coffee
To wake up my mind,
Then I went out to run in the forest
To breathe all the fresh air I could find.

Now I read a book,
To feed my soul and heart,
It’s like an old movie
That makes me laugh.

But the best part of the day,
Is when I hold you both so tight,
You are my world, my life, my light,
You are the mini-me, my son,
And the half me, my one.
