You were the sun that lit my sky
The moon that watched me grow.
The star that guided me at night,
The wind that made me flow.

We walked the paths of life together
We read each other’s soul,
We laughed and cried and learned and loved
We made each other whole.

You shared with me your stories,
Your wisdom and your grace,
You held my hand in joy and pain
You brightened up my face.

You told the jokes that made me smile,
The lullaby that soothed my sleep,
The touch that calmed my restless mind,
The love that I will keep.

You were always in my mind,
And I was in yours too,
But yesterday you left this world
And today is the first of my life without you.
