Ink And Reason

In the silence, I whisper to the sky
For the absent God to hear my cry 
Let me forget the claws of the past 
The gnawing shadows that hold me fast 
So much left unsaid, it’s hard to sustain 
In a world where there’s nothing left to explain

I’m praying for a moment, true 
To stop the mockery, of me and you 
No more bathing in pretense and lies 
I yearn for peace where my spirit flies

I’ve danced in shadows, played the part 
Of a jester with a weary heart 
But now I seek a different role 
A truth that resonates with my soul 
No more false modesty in this play 
I seek the peace to live, not just to stay

And if this prayer finds no ear to receive
I’ll be the change I wish to perceive
In peace, I’ll live, in peace
I’ll thrive, in every breath, I’ll feel alive
