Tragic Laughter

On the worn-out couch, you whispered secrets
Promises wrapped in smoke and deceit
Trust unraveling like frayed threads
We sought another path, a desperate plea

I wept, seeking solace in a friend's haze
His laughter echoing through dim-lit rooms
A fleeting escape from our tangled web
But reality loomed a relentless storm

Tragic, tragic, the irony of mirth
Masking pain with hollow chuckles
Your lies etched deep, a jagged scar
A symphony of betrayal, notes dissonant

Returned, I wore a brittle smile
Edges sharp as shards of broken glass
The bridge beckoned, its arch a siren call
Desire to converse, to unravel the truth

Yet you were absent, chasing shadows
His silhouette haunting our fractured bond
You lied, and the river beneath me roared
A current of regret, pulling me under

Tragic, laughter turned bitter
Innocence lost, replaced by cynicism
Each syllable a testament to your deceit
A chorus of accusation, relentless and raw

You liar, your name etched in time
A graffiti of betrayal on my wounded heart
I stand at the precipice, torn between
Silence and the abyss, where truth awaits
