Back From the Shadows (With a Finished Novel!)

If you’ve been wondering why this corner of the internet has been unusually quiet… rest assured, I haven’t vanished, joined a secret order, or been recruited by an intelligence agency (though, given recent months, that last one would’ve fit the narrative nicely). The truth is far simpler — and far more chaotic. I’ve been busy finishing my first novel, a spy thriller that has consumed my time, my sleep, and probably a few years of my life expectancy.

But that’s not all. When I wasn’t writing, I was… well, everywhere.

Between chapters, plot twists, and existential crises about character arcs, I somehow managed to roam through the Romanian mountains, wander the streets of Rome, soak up the sun in Greece, and explore a handful of other places that are perfect for someone who works remotely and pretends it’s all “for inspiration.” To be fair, some of it was for inspiration — nothing fuels a spy thriller like writing from a mountain cabin with suspiciously bad Wi-Fi or drafting dialogue in a Roman café while eavesdropping on tourists.

And despite all the travel, the coffee-fueled writing sessions, and the occasional “I swear I’ll never finish this” moments… I did it. I typed the final sentence. And, surprisingly, I’m genuinely happy with how it turned out — which is rare, because usually when I finish a text, I look at it the way a seasoned agent looks at a briefcase left unattended in a train station.

The manuscript is now in the hands of several major Romanian publishers. One has already rejected it — politely, and not because of the writing, but because the theme doesn’t match their editorial line. Honestly, that’s the literary equivalent of being told, “It’s not you, it’s us,” and I’ll take it.

Now comes the real thriller: waiting. This is the second time I’ve chosen not to self‑publish, because I truly believe this story deserves a proper shot out in the world. And since I wrote a suspense novel, it’s only fair that I get to live a bit of suspense myself.

In the meantime, I’m back here — hopefully with a more consistent posting rhythm, or at least one that doesn’t make it look like I’ve been abducted by a covert organization and forced to write in a bunker.

Fingers crossed for good news soon. And stay close — the next chapter (literally and figuratively) is on its way.
